Famous People Players
Last night I scored one of the puppet team's extra tickets to the Famous People Players at the Imperial Theatre. It was a black-light thing, performed by a group made up of developmentally challenged adults --- that really resonated with me, and I have a lot of respect for the woman who founded this program. I also loved the black light.
Coolest thing --- they did "routines" to two songs we used to do in band --- "The Stripper" and "Take Five" (Dave Brubeck). The strip show to the former was hilarious (because the woman just kept removing her blacklight clothes until she "disappeared"). A good night.
I'm listening to Leonard Cohen on Napster right now (my Napster subscription was a wonderful gift I gave to myself a few months back) and being a bit nostalgic about high school days. Ms. Abeles was a wonderful teacher. Though I don't like Leonard Cohen NOW as much as I did THEN, I like what his music represented to me at the time when we studied it in English.
