Also, our car.
Our Kia, still unnamed, was playing a fun game called "Not always going into park at appropriate times". Or, "Not always going out of park at appropriate times". Our Kia does not suck in any way, but it sucked in this way.
Today we took him/her (we are still discussing this) to the dealership and experienced excellent customer service. An oil change (reasonably priced) and free fluid top-ups and checkup. Plus, exploring the games the Kia has been playing.
The result -- a very small something or other had dislodged and was rattling around in the button that you need to push in order to shift in/out of park. That small something or other was removed, and now it all works fine. However, that small something or other probably has some kind of purpose, though the guy at the dealership wasn't sure what. So, they're going to rip out the whole gear shift console and put in a new one. And WHY NOT? It's under warranty!
This is the first time I have experienced on a personal level the beauty of a car being under warranty. We didn't have to shell out a penny for them to diagnose the problem, and we won't have to shell out a penny for them to fix it! How sweet is that??
What a blessing. :)
And on a reasonably related note --- Saint John Kia has moved to a different place on the same road, and is now in easy walking distance to the new MusicStop location. So while we wait for our car, we can go there! This is good news.
